Summer & Fall are some of the best seasons to come and explore the history and lore of the Adirondack Mountains. Being the largest protected wilderness in the continental U.S., there are limitless possibilities for the individual enthusiast, couple or family. Come enjoy the breathtaking landscapes & make memories that will last a lifetime.

The Adirondack Park offers some of the best hiking in the East with over 2,000 miles of marked hiking trails. Most notable among these are the region’s trails leading to the 46 High Peaks, each over 4,000 feet.

Lake Placid is home to the High Peaks and some of the best rock climbing in the Adirondacks. From the biggest wilderness cliff in the East to secluded wilderness walls and back country crags, Lake Placid’s High Peaks region offers a variety of Challenges for climbers of all ability levels.

Paddle right from our backyard in one of our complimentary canoes, or bring your own for all day exploration on Lake Placid.

For the thrill seekers, this area has some of the best rapids in the East, with an abundance of local whitewater outfitter’s available; there are many skilled and talented guides to choose from. Motor boats, along with non-motorized watercraft can be rented throughout the area as well.

With all the various lakes, ponds, rivers and streams to choose from the serious angler or the happy go lucky fisherman can’t go wrong. Come check out the famed fly fishing mecca of the West Branch of the Ausable River, or find your own soon to be favorite secret fishing hole.

Challenge yourself on the same grueling course the famous Lake Placid Ironman is held, or coast around Mirror Lake without a care in the world. Whether you enjoy a road bike or a mountain bike, come explore miles of unbeatable terrain with some of the most spectacular views to be had.

Lake Placid offers a surprising amount of shopping in such a small town. We have unique boutiques, antique shops and outlet shops, meeting everyone’s tastes, interest and budget, the best part, is our Inn is within walking distance to all of them. For the foodies and health conscious, the Lake Placid Farmers market, featuring locally grown and homemade food is located just down the street from us, a nice leisurely stroll.

Located throughout the town, you are sure to find a unique piece of artwork that speaks to you, from Adirondack sculpture, to acclaimed paintings and photography, the area inspires creativity! The Lake Placid Center for the Arts which features various exhibits throughout the year, as well as, world class performance art, is located in the same area that the Farmers Market is held, a convenient stroll down the street.
